Event Description:
On behalf of the City of DeFuniak Springs and the Special Events Committee, we would like to invite you to participate in the 2017 Annual Home and Energy Expo.

The City of DeFuniak Springs Special Events Committee and the City of DeFuniak Springs will be hosting the 6th Annual Home and Energy Expo on Saturday November 4th, 2017 at the Walton County Fairgrounds. The purpose of the Home and Energy Expo is to bring awareness to the use of renewable energy (wind and solar), recycle, repurpose items and sustainability. The design of the Home and Energy Expo is to help open our minds to new ways and ideas that will help save time, money and our environment.
Listed below are some of the products and services that will be offered at the Home and Energy Expo.
Classes:
The Walton County Extension Office (http://walton.ifas.ufl.edu/) will present everything from gardening to cooking on a sun powered grill.
Services:
Shred-It will offer paper shredding services at NO CHARGE to help raise awareness and to promote prevention of Consumer fraud and identity theft. At last year’s Expo, Shred-It helped many consumers by disposing of hundreds of pounds of paper. Again, this is a FREE SERVICE offered at the Home and Energy Expo.
The Walton Board of County Commissioners will be sponsoring Amnesty for disposal of unwanted batteries, paint, tires and other toxic household goods. Bring it by the Home and Energy Expo for FREE drop off.
One Blood will be set up to take blood donations for the day.  Neighbors Kitchen will be giving a food or drink item for each blood donation. Save a life … give blood.
Local car dealers will be on hand to show the latest in electric/hybrid cars and have some one available for questions.
Vendors:
Many local builders will be on site to show new technologies to help save money and energy for home and office. Lowe’s will be on site to show energy saving items that can be purchased at their store. Lowe’s also offers classes on how to install these items for FREE. Power companies, gas companies, solar vendors, and more will be there to discuss how to lower your utilities. We will also have vendors who are selling their recycled, repurposed or reused items. There will also be many demonstrations throughout the day.

Come join us at the Walton County Fairgrounds on the 4th of November for the 6th Annual Home and Energy Expo.
