Interns will be working closely with the audit managers and senior level staff accountants as mentors to complete staff level audit responsibilities during tax season.
Audit responsibilities include:
- Assisting in planning work on assigned segments of the audit.
- Reviewing transactions, documents, records, reports and methods for accuracy and effectiveness.
- Preparing acceptable working papers that record and summarize data on the assigned audit segment
- Compliance testing
Our goal is to promote an understanding of more than just the basic audit preparation requirements. This position will give students skills working with audit work papers and applying accounting knowledge to multiple clients.
Must be a junior, senior or graduate student in accounting or a closely related field of study. Proficient computer skills are necessary, specifically Microsoft Excel. Student will be directly supervised by managers and senior level staff accountants at Carter & Company, CPA LLC.
This is a temporary full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime hours may be required as job duties demand.
