Okaloosa and Walton County Traffic Advisory

Chipley – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Okaloosa County

• State Road (S.R.) 4 Resurfacing from the Santa Rosa County Line to 16th Street- Project cleanup, striping, and signage installation continue. Motorists can expect the following intermittent lane restrictions from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan 5 through Friday, Jan. 11:
o S.R. 4 and S.R. 189 intersection from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
o S.R. 4 from the S.R. 189 intersection west to Jack Stokes Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
o S.R. 4 from Jack Stokes Road west to the Santa Rosa County line from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
o Drivers may also encounter intermittent shoulder closures around the S.R. 4/S.R. 189 intersection during daytime hours as crews perform other construction activities. • S.R. 190 (Valparaiso Parkway) east of S.R. 85- Drivers will encounter eastbound lane restrictions just east of S.R. 85 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 as crews construct a new commercial driveway. • S.R. 85 over Juniper Creek Bridge Repair- Construction activities on the Juniper Creek Bridge have begun. No lane restrictions are expected at this time. Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
Walton County

• U.S. 98 Widening from Emerald Bay Drive to Tang-O-Mar Drive- The sidewalk on the south side of U.S. 98 between County Road 2378 and Tang-O-Mar Drive is being removed so crews can relocate utilities. Alternate routes and signage will be in place to help direct pedestrians.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling in the work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
