DESTIN, FLA. — (July 27, 2017) Are you ready for some football? The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Saltwater Restaurants are teaming up for the football season on Thursday, August 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the recently opened Als Beach Club & Burger Bar at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island.
The Art of Tailgating is part of MKAFs Dining For A Cause fundraiser to raise awareness and funding for its community outreach programs serving K-12 students, special needs for adults and children, and a Warrior Arts initiative for the men and women of our military community.
The Art of Tailgating will feature food and beverage tasting from various Saltwater Restaurants competing for Best Tailgating Food. “Our restaurants are ready to throw down their best tailgating dishes and host the ultimate beach tailgate, all for a great cause!” said Clint Rogers, Director of Operations for Saltwater Restaurants. The participating restaurants include Als Beach Club & Burger Bar, Black Pearl Island Grill, The Crab Trap, Floyds Shrimp House and Rockin’ Tacos.
Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite sports colors with a chance to enter an exciting sports-themed raffle to win gift baskets including tickets to collegiate and national football games, golf package, baseball and other sports-related items. Live entertainment will rock the Als Beach Club stage with music from Myke Van Ness.
Donations of sports memorabilia, game tickets or more are appreciated. Businesses and individual raffle donors will be recognized for their contribution at this community-wide fundraising event. Please contact the MKAF office at 850-650-2226.
Tickets are $50 per person or $40 for MKAF members. Purchase tickets online at or call (850) 650-2226. All proceeds will benefit the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundations mission in bringing cultural experiences and community outreach programs to children and families in Northwest Florida.
