DESCRIPTION:The Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge announces its 2nd annual Summerwild Camp on Okaloosa Island.  Three different curriculum are being offered to allow students to attend more than one week without repetition of material.\n\n\n\n    "Critters of the Coast" : Learn about Florida's marine and terrestrial wildlife\, use a seine net\, and practice tracking animals.\n\n        May 23 - 27\n\n        June 13 - 17\n\n\n\n    "You're Not From Around Here\, Are You?" : Discover invasive species\, their impact on native animals and plants\, and wildlife conservation plans.\n\n        May 30 - June 3\n\n        June 20 - 24\n\n\n\n    "I'm a JR. Rehabilitator" : The scoop on professional wildlife rehabilitation methods and wildlife management careers.\n\n        June 6 - 10\n\n        June 27 - July 1\n\n\n\nEach day at Summerwild\, campers come face to face with the refuge's live animal ambassadors and learn about the world of wildlife rehabilitation.  Camp activities include marine mammal stranding response training\, exploring Florida's ecosystems\, learning about the natural history of native wildlife\, identification of native plants\, and creating conservation projects that we can do right in our own backyards.  Campers explore the great outdoors on ECWR's waterfront property\, participate in live wildlife demonstrations\, play team-building games\, and do art and craft projects.  Snacks\, water and juice are served each day\, and campers will bring their own lunch.  Before- and after- care is available.\n\n\n\nAges: 1st - 6th grade\n\nTime : 9:00a.m. - 3:00p.m.
