DESCRIPTION:Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the number 1 killer of women? It takes a woman's life every 80 seconds\, according to the American Heart Association. Did you also know that almost 45% of women over the age of 20 are living with some form of cardiovascular disease.\n\nDespite these staggering statistics\, most women don't understand their risk or know the symptoms of cardiovascular disease and heart attack. Also significant gaps exist in research and clinical care for women's cardiovascular health. That's why\, in 2004\, the American Heart Association started Go Red for Women\, an initiative that meets the evolving needs of women now\, and at every age\, stage and season of their lives. Go Red for Women and the AHA are women's trusted\, relevant source for credible\, equitable health solutions.\n\nNow more than 50 countries participate in these educational events designed to empower women to take control of their cardiovascular health and encourage others to also do so. Go Red for Women events raise money that specifically funds women-focused research. Attendees at these events wear red to show their solidarity in support of this mission.\n\nBeachworx is proud to present Destin's only 2024 Go Red for Women event. The breakfast and networking event will feature two speakers - a local heart attack survivor and transplant recipient and an area representative from the American Heart Association who will share AHA's science-based recipe for improving cardiovascular health\, Life's Essential 8. There will also be complimentary blood pressure screenings.\n\nPlease plan to join us at this event celebrating wellness\, knowledge and empowerment. There is no charge for attendance\, but your donation to the American Heart Association is appreciated.
