DESCRIPTION:A music\, poetry and coffeehouse event\, part of the NWF Book 'n Brunch series\, will be held at Northwest Florida State College on Friday\, March 11\, at 11:30 a.m. in the Barnes & Noble Bookstore and Starbucks Caf  on the Niceville Campus\, 100 College Blvd. E.\n\n \n\nThe event   which is free and open to the public   will feature music by Dr. Jeremy Ribando\, chair of the Humanities\, Fine and Performing Arts Division\, and poetry by Dr. Deidre Price\, professor of English.\n\n \n\nPrice will read from her work Lie/Lay/Lain: The Body in Tenses. The following is an excerpt:\n\n \n\nI set my grammar on the table\,\n\nleave dirty participles by the sink\,\n\nforgetting the distances between \n\nlie/lay/lain.\n\n \n\nI speak in second person\n\nwhen I've told students not to \n\nall day long.\n\n \n\nI let up on tense shifts\,\n\nin this steady present of my home\, \n\n \n\nwhere I see drafts of my children in progress\,\n\ntwo daughters\, \n\na son.\n\n \n\nLet there be no stray marks\,\n\nonly bold\, crescendoed beauty\, \n\n \n\nlove in every tense \n\nin sight.\n\n \n\nRibando\, an award-winning composer who has received numerous commissions and performances of his works\, will perform selections from his music\, including a piece inspired by Price's poetry.\n\n \n\nSpecials will be available at the Starbucks Caf  during the event.
