More than 5,000 music lovers come together over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend in January to attend the 30A Songwriters Festival. This unique event is a four day music extravaganza featuring over 135 songwriters and musicians performing original songs in various genres ranging from country to Americana and folk as well as blues and soul in more than 30 dedicated listening rooms along historic Highway 30A and beyond in South Walton. The Festival, produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) and Russell Carter Artist Management (RCAM), brings together nearly every South Walton community and many businesses to showcase our home as a destination not only for the beauty of its beaches but also for the wealth of its artistic cultural offerings. Past performers include Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris, Brian Wilson, John Prine, Indigo Girls, Brandi Carlile, Graham Nash, Grace Potter, Jason Isbell, Ann Wilson, the Bangles, Cheap Trick, Lucinda Williams, Roseanne Cash, Steve Earle, Shawn Mullins, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Patty Griffin, among many more. 100% of the Festival’s net proceeds benefit the CAA allowing it to continue to be a champion for the arts throughout Walton County.
