Beyond the Basics: Wheel Throwing & Clay Skills with Sherry Hall

Ready to take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level? This three-week course, meeting on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, is designed for students with prior introductory wheel experience who are eager to refine their techniques and expand their creative possibilities.

In this class, you’ll strengthen your throwing skills while exploring more complex forms such as cups, mugs, and bowls. We’ll cover essential techniques like lid-making, handle attachment, and surface decoration using slips, along with alteration methods to add unique character to your work. Additionally, we’ll dive into underglaze applications to enhance your designs with color and texture.

If you’re looking to gain more confidence on the wheel, improve your finishing techniques, and develop a personal style, this class is the perfect next step!

This class is available to ages 18 and up. No make-up days/classes are available for missed time.

Class dates: March 19, 21, 26, 28 as well as April 2 and 4.

Class time: 1 - 3 p.m.

Minimum Class Size: 4*

Maximum Class Size: 8
