Join Forward DeFuniak for Civic Pride Night, a free community screening of The Lake That Built a Town, followed by a moderated conversation with local residents and historians featured in the documentary.
Produced by HWY 331, The Lake That Built a Town explores how Lake DeFuniak shaped the settlement, architecture, civic life and shared identity of DeFuniak Springs. Through intimate interviews and cinematic storytelling, the film reveals how this rare, nearly circular lake became the community’s gathering place and cultural heart.
Following the screening, audience members will be invited to hear additional stories and insights from individuals featured in the documentary.
Presented during Florida City Week, Civic Pride Night is an opportunity to gather, reflect and celebrate the history, people and places that make DeFuniak Springs distinctive.
