Grit & Grace - The event will take place at the Walton High School Auditorium, Sept. 9-12. There is a cast of over 50 actors, a crew and support crew of more than 30 people, all coming together to put on the production that is the official folklife story of Walton County. It is a production that takes stories that have been passed down from generation to generation, about lives, loves and legends that helped build and shape this county. Tickets are now on sale for $10 for adults/$5 for students. They can be purchased at Miss Lucille's Gossip Parlor in Gulf Place, Sundog Books in Seaside, the DeFuniak Herald/Beach Breeze Newspaper in DeFuniak Springs, or by going on line to www.gritandgrace.com and pay with credit card. Over the years, Grit & Grace has presented some of the greatest moments in local history, as seen through the eyes of those who were there or whose family members lived it. The tales have covered the effects of war on Walton County families, the introduction of telephones and television, life along the Choctawhatchee Bay, colorful stories about a few shady characters who passed through the region, the life and times of Florida’s most beloved midwife, and many other tales of faith and inspiration. If you have a story about Walton County you want to share with Grit and Grace, call 850-892-9578 or email info@gritandgrace.org and we’ll help you. You can write your stories down or we’ll arrange to have someone come record and transcribe them. The stories we collect are stored in an archive for future use in our production rds.
