Hidden in Plain Sight –(Virtual) is an online interactive drug education presentation to raise awareness of the signs that may point to risky adolescent behaviors.
The presentation is centered around a mock teenager's bedroom where parents, caregivers, or other adults will be presented with a series of objects while being guided on what to look for in a teen's bedroom along with what to say if an item linked to substance use is found. Parents will gain insight into current trends in youth substance use and ways teens conceal alcohol and drugs. Participants will learn to identify signs and symptoms of risky behaviors to look out for. Participants will identify hidden drug paraphernalia, warning signs, and symptoms to watch for associated with youth substance use.
It can be hard to know what to do or say about substance use. The Prevention Specialists will provide guidance on how to talk to youth about drugs and alcohol, and what to do if a problem is suspected. We'll share a few suggestions for starting difficult conversations with your teens about these issues.
This virtual presentation is for parents and other adults. No students please
We hope to see you there!
Presented by WCPC -Walton County Prevention Coalition
