Kids Pottery Series with Sarah Bumanglag

Join us for a fun and creative 4-week pottery series, where young artists will explore the exciting world of clay! Each Tuesday, students will dive into 1.5-hour sessions filled with hands-on learning and imagination.

Through guided instruction, kids will discover the fundamentals of hand-building, mastering techniques like pinch pot creation, adding textures and surface decoration, and understanding the clay firing process. They'll also get to glaze their own pieces, bringing their creations to life with color!

By the end of the series, each student will go home with three unique handmade pieces—a special keepsake of their creativity and hard work.

This class is the perfect introduction to pottery, designed to spark creativity and give students a deeper appreciation for the magic of working with clay. Whether they’re new to pottery or eager to get their hands dirty, this series is a fantastic way to learn, play, and create!

This series is intended for children ages 6-11 year olds (K-5th grade) and all levels of learners.

Class dates: Mar. 11, 18, 25 and Apr. 1

Class time: 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Minimum Class Size: 3*

Maximum Class Size: 8

*Please note if the class minimum is not met 48 hours in advance, the class will be canceled and registered students refunded.

Instructor Bio:

Growing up, on the Central Coast of California, the ocean and nature have influenced instructor Sarah Bumanglag's creative expression throughout her life. Inspiration also flows from her many trips to the Hawaiian islands to visit family. An unanticipated early retirement from firefighting afforded her family the ability to move to the beautiful Emerald Coast where she continues to enjoy teaching and creating in a less stressful environment.
