Join us for an exciting adventure to observe one of Florida's incredible native species, the Brazilian Free Tailed Bat (also known as the Mexican Free Tailed Bat) at our bat house. Come for an unforgettable experience and learn about nocturnal creatures along the hike. The Biophilia Center is nestled along 55,000 acres of Nokuse Land Conservancy, part of the remaining 2% of the longleaf pine ecosystem. This habitat is one of the rarest, as it is only found in the southeastern portion of the U.S. Home to dozens of native mammal, reptile and bird Ambassador Animals, providing visitors the opportunity to learn about the natural environment. This event is open to all ages. If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, you will be offered options: receive a refund, transfer your ticket to the October 3rd Nighttime Neighbors event (which is a similar event) or we gratefully accept your donation. If you are unable to attend due to unforseen circumstances, we gratefully accept your booking as a donation. There will be no refund if cancelled within 48 hours of the event (other than the entire event being cancelled due to inclement weather) Disclaimer: access to the bat house requires traversing approximatley 1/4 mile distance on a sandy trail with uneven ground and tripping hazards such as roots or sticks, in the dark with no white light permitted. Guests are welcome to bring red lense lights or use our materials to cover light sources in order to avoid disturbing native wildlife. Guests are asked to remain quiet in our silent zones near the bat house to avoid disturbing them and other guests. Visitors will be asked to leave the silen zone if they are not able to remain quiet, or display other disturbing behaviors such as shining white lights near the bats.
