The Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, the region’s premiere professional orchestra now in its 27th performance season, presents its season opening concert on September 28 at 7:30 p.m. with a guest performance by pianist Asiya Korepanova of Russia. The “Austro-Hungarian Journey” concert of NFSO features acclaimed Wideman International Competition Gold Medal winner Korepanova performing Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2.The concert also includes dance-inspired music of the Waltz King, Johann Strauss, Jr., Overture to Die Fledermaus, followed by a suite of Hungarian dances, Dances of Galanta, arranged by Zoltan Kodaly. Tickets to NFSO concerts are $22.50 each for adults, and $16 each for Active Duty Military and youth age 18 and younger. NFSO season packages are available for a discount over single ticket prices for $115 each for a package of the five regular season concerts. The NFSO performs in the mainstage theater at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College, where a custom orchestra shell ensures the finest in acoustics for symphony patrons.
