Walton County Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids

The community is invited to enjoy a day of fun, free, family activities on Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Freeport Regional Sports Complex in Hammock Bay. A variety of kid-friendly activities and safety demonstrations will take place. Food and craft vendors will also be on hand to sell their goods and a Backyard BBQ competition will take place on site. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast’s South Walton Club and DeFuniak Springs Teen Center.
Day for Kids is celebrated nationally by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. It is a day focused on activities the family can enjoy together. The event is free and attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and spend the day participating in activities and enjoying the facilities at the Freeport Regional Sports Complex.
In addition to kid-friendly activities such as kickball, face painting and the bean bag toss, local art vendors will be on hand selling their unique creations and community organizations will provide information and Safety demonstrations will be given by the Division of Forestry, CHELCO, and other community service groups.
A backyard BBQ competition will also be held for those who want to prove their grilling skills. A $50 registration fee is required for teams desiring to enter the competition. Additionally, any team wishing to sell their food can do so with an additional $50 vendor registration fee.
