DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – Builders FirstSource (BFS) is celebrating the grand opening for its new truss plant in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. Contractors, subcontractors and other specialists in the building industry are invited to tour the new facility and learn more about Builders FirstSource’s products and services on Thursday, May 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. at 205 Progress Lane in DeFuniak Springs. The event, presented by Contractors Connect, will include food, drinks, live music by Sean Williams, and a ribbon cutting with the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce. “The grand opening of Builders FirstSource’s new truss plant in DeFuniak Springs marks an exciting investment in the local community,” said Brian Richardson, Area Vice President. “This facility creates valuable job opportunities across manufacturing, safety, administration, delivery, and management, strengthening the regional economy. The 50,000-square-foot facility features new, state-of-the-art roof and floor truss building equipment and employs a staff of 50 associates. The plant serves the Central Gulf Coast market. Utilizing the most advanced manufacturing technology available in both the production and delivery of trusses, BFS DeFuniak is able to have three production lines working simultaneously, producing 12-to-14 sets of trusses per day. Additional truss plants to the west are able to handle any needed excess capacity. “BFS DeFuniak stands head and shoulders above its competition, with a team of 12 in-house, dedicated, custom truss designers who have a combined experience of 150 years,” John Pugh, Area Sales Manager, said.
