WALTON COUNTY, Fla. – The Walton County Board of County Commissioners, alongside the Walton County Beach Operations and Tourism department will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Camp Creek Lake Canoe and Kayak Launch at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, at 121 Camp Creek Road S., Inlet Beach. This event is open to the public, providing residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to view a new public access point designed to enhance recreational opportunities and environmental appreciation along the scenic coastal dune lake. Featuring an ADA-accessible pier with a dedicated canoe and kayak launch, the site provides opportunities for individuals of all abilities to enjoy the unique coastal dune lake ecosystem. The park also includes convenient bicycle parking, carefully landscaped grounds, and advanced stormwater management systems. This project represents a significant investment in local recreation and community access, offering residents and visitors a chance to connect with Walton County's rare and beautiful natural environments. Representatives from the Tourism department, Beach Operations and BOCC will be present to commemorate the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, welcoming the public to explore and enjoy this new community resource. This project was built and will be maintained using the Tourist Development Tax, a 5-percent tax collected on short-term rentals in south Walton County.
