CHELCO expands scholarship program; $10,000 in scholarships available to members
DeFuniak Springs (February 18, 2025) – Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc., (CHELCO) recently announced that it has increased its available CHELCO scholarships awarded from six to ten, each valued at $1,000.
CHELCO members or their dependents planning to or currently attending college or trade school as undergraduate students in the 2025-26 school year are encouraged to apply for the CHELCO Scholarship. Eligible applicants must be members of CHELCO and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Winners will be randomly selected during a live drawing at the 2025 CHELCO Annual Meeting on April 12 at Freeport High School. To participate, applicants must be present at the event—no exceptions—and register between 9:00 and 10:45 AM to enter their name into the drawing.
CHELCO’s scholarship program was introduced in 2015 and has since provided $45,000 in scholarships to members and their dependents pursuing higher education.
