Eglin Federal Credit Union donates $50,000 to support United Way Hurricane Isaias recovery

Fort Walton Beach, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2026) - Eglin Federal Credit Union is supporting local Hurricane Isaias recovery efforts through donations of $25,000 to United Way Emerald Coast and $25,000 to United Way of West Florida. United Way Emerald Coast will support recovery efforts in Okaloosa and Walton counties, while United Way of West Florida's donation is designated specifically for recovery assistance in Santa Rosa County, which experienced some of the region's most extensive damage.

“We are so grateful that Eglin Federal Credit Union, a long-time partner of local United Ways, is providing this assistance during this difficult time for our community members,” said Kelly Jasen, United Way Emerald Coast President & CEO. “Hardworking families can struggle to make ends meet even during the best of times, and this disaster has only increased the challenges many are facing. As our neighbors begin the road to recovery, this donation will help provide critical support where it is needed most.”

“For many families, recovery is a long process that brings unexpected financial and personal challenges," said Laura Gilliam, president and CEO of United Way of West Florida. "Getting back to normal takes time, and no single organization can do the work alone. This generous donation from Eglin Federal Credit Union will help support long-term recovery efforts in Santa Rosa County and will help these residents regain stability and move forward. We are so grateful for Eglin FCU's investment in our community and its commitment to helping our neighbors bounce back after this storm.”

The Hurricane Isaias recovery funds will help address immediate and long-term needs resulting from the storm's impact, including assistance with housing, essential household expenses and other recovery-related services. Through partnerships with local organizations and community leaders, United Way works to ensure resources reach individuals and families most affected by disasters.

“Eglin Federal Credit Union is proud to support organizations like United Way Emerald Coast and United Way of West Florida that are playing such an important role in hurricane recovery efforts,” said Eglin FCU President/CEO Cathie Staton. “Their work reflects our shared commitment to helping our members, neighbors and communities recover and rebuild following Hurricane Isaias. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for local families facing the challenges of recovery.”
