Niceville, Fla. – HCA Florida Healthcare today announced that HCA Florida DeFuniak Springs Emergency is now serving patients at its location off Highway 331 at 160 Twin Springs Way – just north of Interstate 10 at exit 85. The facility, an extension of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital’s main campus, provides 24/7 full-service emergency healthcare to adults and children.

“We are honored to expand access to round-the-clock emergency care by board-certified physicians at two convenient locations – our new HCA Florida DeFuniak Springs Emergency and our emergency room at HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital,” said Todd Jackson, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital. “Part of our broader HCA Healthcare network, HCA Florida DeFuniak Springs Emergency provides expert local care supported by the experience and resources of one of the largest emergency care networks in the nation.”

HCA Florida DeFuniak Springs Emergency hosted a ribbon cutting and tours of the new $19 million facility last month. Attendees included Bob Campbell, Mayor of DeFuniak Springs; Koby Townsend, City Manager; City Council members Todd Bierbaum and Josh Sconiers; Walton County Commissioner Danny Glidewell; Mayor of Freeport Russ Barley; first responders; community stakeholders and healthcare professionals.

As part of HCA Florida Healthcare, Florida’s largest ER network, the 11,570 square-foot facility provides 24/7 full-service emergency care to residents and visitors of DeFuniak Springs and surrounding Walton County communities. Staffed with board certified emergency medicine physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals, the ER provides specialized emergency care for patients of all ages, including children. There are 10 private emergency patient care rooms, a trauma/cardiopulmonary resuscitation room, CT scan, digital X-ray and a laboratory on site.

The ER will employ approximately 35 full-time healthcare professionals, supporting local job growth and reinforcing HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital’s commitment to serving the healthcare needs of the growing Walton County population and its visitors.
