Human Trafficking through a Trauma-Informed Lens” free training on July 24

DeFuniak Springs, Fla. (Jul. 9, 2025) – Human trafficking often intersects with trauma, mental health challenges and vulnerable life circumstances. LifeView Group invites community members to a free training event designed to strengthen awareness and understanding of these complex dynamics.

Led by Alicia Tappan of Survivor-Led Solutions, the session will explore how trauma impacts both vulnerability to trafficking and the path to healing. Alicia brings extensive experience in victim advocacy and education, with a focus on connecting human trafficking prevention and recovery to trauma-informed care. Her work highlights how providers, advocates and communities can more effectively support survivors by recognizing the signs and understanding the underlying trauma.

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Grace Church, located at 298 Walton Road, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435. The training is free and open to the public. Attendees will gain valuable insights and tools to aid in identifying, responding to and supporting individuals impacted by human trafficking.

This event is part of LifeView Group’s ongoing commitment to combat human trafficking through prevention, education and collaboration. As the parent company of Lakeview Center, FamiliesFirst Network and Global Connections to Employment, LifeView Group works across a broad continuum of care to support vulnerable populations and promote lasting well-being in the communities it serves.

LifeView Group would like to thank our event partners: Survivor-Led Solutions and Grace Church-DeFuniak Springs, for generously sharing their facility space, as well as providing refreshments for attendees.
