Panama City Symphony Brings Terror to the Stage in the Third Annual Nightmare by the Bay
Panama City, Florida (October 8, 2025) – The countdown is on: Only three days until Panama City Symphony’s annual October adventure, Nightmare By the Bay! This Saturday evening, October 11, Symphony patrons are in for some artistic imagination, haunting terror, and evocative thrills as Maestro Sergey Bogza performs in this immersive experience. Where else can you hear John Williams, Beethoven, The Pink Panther, Rocky, and The Lion King (and more) all in one epic concert by your local Symphony, decked out in costume?
Now in its third season, this year’s theme, BEASTS OF THE BAYOU: TERROR IN THE MIST, weaves an original story created by Bogza into a Halloween-esque tapestry of intrigue with costumes, original cinematography, and epic symphonic music. Panama City Symphony's Board President, Dr. Marlene East says, “Our multi-talented conductor, whose creative energy is truly unbridled, has penned his third Nightmare By the Bay. Beasts of the Bayou is a dramatic and humorous theatrical screenplay that weaves together classical repertoire and pops hits. Come dressed in your best bayou attire and experience an orchestra production unlike any other—it’s music and mischief rolled into one!” This year’s cast includes Lloyd Reshard Jr. – Bass-baritone powerhouse and returning Symphony favorite; Leigh Gladden – Actor, singer, dancer, and producer; Logan Pavia – NYC-based rising star making his PCS debut; and Sergey Bogza – Conductor and Music Director.
On Friday, October 10 Symphony patrons and the public is invited to attend Moments with the Maestro from 4 to 5 PM at Panama City Center for the Arts. At this one-hour event, our Maestro takes a deep dive into the music planned for the following evening’s concert, explaining the compositions’ nuances, significance and background.
Panama City Symphony expresses heartfelt thanks to the community for wonderful production support by Home Depot, Fowhand Furniture, The Appliance Center, Ferrucci Ristorante, and Longlost Pictures.
Nightmare By the Bay plays on Saturday, October 11, 7 PM at the Barbara W. Nelson Fine Arts Center at Bay High School, 1200 Harrison Avenue. Concertgoers may feel free to embrace their inner beast by wearing a costume that evening! Costumes are optional but highly encouraged for those with an adventurous spirit.
