Beloved family film and live orchestral experience rescheduled for April 17, 2027, at Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation Dugas Pavilion in Destin
DESTIN, FLA. (Oct. 13, 2026) — Sinfonia Gulf Coast announces that The Wizard of Oz in Concert, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation Cultural Arts Village, has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2027.
The decision follows Hurricane Isaias that recently impacted the outdoor venue, where the stage canopy and other areas remain under evaluation. Out of an abundance of caution, Sinfonia Gulf Coast's board of directors has elected to reschedule the performance to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for musicians, patrons and staff.
“The safety and well-being of our musicians, patrons and staff is our number one concern, and we feel moving the date is the prudent thing to do at this juncture,” says Sinfonia Gulf Coast Music & Artistic Director Demetrius Fuller. “There's no place like our Emerald Coast home, and we can't wait to welcome everyone to this cherished classic film in concert this spring.”
The new April date also provides an opportunity for families and friends to experience one of cinema's most beloved adventures in a spectacular outdoor setting.
Presented by Sinfonia Gulf Coast, The Wizard of Oz in Concert brings the timeless 1939 film to life on the big screen as a live symphony orchestra performs the film's unforgettable musical score. From Over the Rainbow to the magical land of Oz, audiences can rediscover Dorothy, Toto and their unforgettable companions in a cinematic and musical experience.
Sinfonia Gulf Coast appreciates the community's understanding and continued support as it works with Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation to prepare for the rescheduled performance.
